Words and Language
I like playing with language and words. In my 5 minutes a day sketch book especially. I have fun cutting out sentences from newspapers or lyrics from songs and then produce very literal illustrations.

Research Research Research
I have learnt a lot about research methods during the last two projects, especially the animal project. Research is not restricted to serious sources; by this I mean internet and library research. Instead, tutors would shout GO OUT THERE AND HAVE SOME FUN! This would allow us to let go and push the boundaries(if that makes sense?!).
I feel more excited about going to different locations and working in a more spontaneous way. I have learnt that it is recommended to be inquisitive and not being sure about the final outcome is fine. It's ok to be inspired.
I also feel you need to be completely involved with your project; this might mean engaging on a personal level with your subject. So things like dressing up and being in character helps you be creative; in fact you enter a state of "flight of the imagination".
In this state your thinking becomes lateral and out of the box. It's all about being free to imagine and not immediately thinking of the boundaries...not being a realistic and pessimistic bore...
I feel I can engage more with my projects now- I understand the process that can lead to a great idea.
